"The Adventures of Captain Encouragement" Season Two Is on Its Way

As schools around the world adjust to the realities of life during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Captain Encouragement can no longer share his positive messages in person. Before COVID-19, Captain Encouragement toured across the country performing school assemblies, junior musicals, and fair events, as well as starring in his comic book series. The nonprofit organization Call to Inspire knew they had to bring Captain Encouragement to kids worldwide in a whole new way, which launched the production of The Adventures of Captain Encouragement, an educational series aimed at audiences of kids aged 5-8 years old. The first season of the series has been so successful they are now launching into production of The Adventures of Captain Encouragement Season Two. maxresdefault-2.jpg

Captain Encouragement is the hero we all desperately need in times like these. He is cultivating the next generation of leaders by tackling tough issues such as bullying in an empowering and entertaining way. In collaboration with parents, teachers, administrators, experts, and students, Call to Inspire produces micro-episodes with free printable worksheets to reach children with an important message in a short time frame. The show covers a wide array of content, including math, science, physical fitness, hygiene, and more. The episodes range from 3 to 5 minutes in length for the perfect bite-sized delivery of information.math%20for%20kids%20picture.jpg

The latest component of The Adventures of Captain Encouragement is American Sign Language (ASL) interpretations in each new episode. It is Call To Inspire’s mission to make content that is as inclusive as possible, and this has already become an important part of the show for students with hearing impairments. The parent of a student with hearing impairments provided these kind words of appreciation:

“My son was born profoundly deaf and my daughter is hard of hearing, it melts my heart seeing your videos! My son starts first grade next school year and he will have a sign language interpreter with him at all times. My son loves the videos! He seems to understand them. He’s still learning sign language so I’m hoping this next school year we can learn more sign language. But watching your videos and seeing the sign language gets him excited. He doesn’t see a lot of it being used besides with his teachers. So it’s truly amazing!”

Due to the ASL program’s success, Call to Inspire is working on the development of engaging content designed to reach students with visual impairments. These values of providing an inclusive experience for everyone are core to the Captain Encouragement ethos.

Call to Inspires mission is eloquently stated by their Co-Executive Director, Nicholas Domingo “Our goal is to perpetuate positive change in the world, starting by giving our children the tools to break the cycle of violence that is inherent in our society and the media. We need to use the world’s unprecedented inter-connectivity to wake up the new generations and finally trade our apathy and isolation for the love and kindness of a more positive humankind.”

Season One of The Adventures of Captain Encouragement is available on YouTube and airs on public access stations in six states (California, Washington, Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan and Arkansas) with a combined audience of over 200,000 empowered young people.
