Using the analyzer, healthcare professionals can inject 3ml of breastmilk to be analyzed. The machine tells the concentration of protein, fat and carbohydrates, and calculates the energy and solids within one minute. The physician can then calculate what the baby will need in addition to the current milk supply. The product has been tested and approved in December 2018 by the FDA for the U.S. market.
