Local Organization to Host Moneyless Marketplace, a Free Community Event

This free event, held on Saturday, January 25, is open to the public.

Fairfax, VA – January 16, 2020 – Tia Young, of Women of GoodWorks (WOGW), announces a free community event called Moneyless Marketplace Community Day in Fairfax, VA. Registered participants will receive financial education from experts and be given an opportunity to obtain free products and services from local vendors. 

This free event, held on Saturday, January 25, is open to the public. Registration is required in order to participate in the Moneyless Marketplace, though there is no cost to register.

The morning’s activities include a light breakfast and a half-day of free presentations on topics including debt reduction strategies, reverse mortgage considerations, and retiring well. Featured speakers include Dave Green, VP, NIWA; Brett Carter, VP, Operations of Fidelity Insurance Company; and Shirley Luu, CEO, and Founder, and Shirley Luu & Associates, LLC. The presentations will be moderated by Marlon Smith.

The moneyless marketplace part of the event will occur in the afternoon immediately after the educational training has been completed. In the moneyless marketplace, vendors will showcase products and services available for moneyless marketplace shopping.

Women of GoodWorks is a trade organization of the charitable public charity known as Widows and Orphans of God, Inc. These organizations primarily serve the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area, but they also support projects across the nation. The organizations serve individuals and families without regard to religious affiliation, race, culture, gender, age, or disability.

WOGW focuses on media outreach and community projects such as moneyless markets for clothing, food, and household items. The organization also supports small businesses, corporate organizations, and government entities for back-office administrative support services and creative speaking event opportunities. WOGW also provides educational outreach and coaching in such areas as financial services, healthcare, and family life skills training. The organization works with churches, other nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and corporate and governmental entities.
