The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation and presenting event sponsor Shady Grove Fertility physicians, staff, patients, and others and will join together on Saturday June 8, 2019 to walk, run, skip, and hop through the Maryland Zoo for a fundraiser to support The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation’s Family Building Grants.
(Baltimore, MD) May 28, 2019- The Cade Foundation will host the 14th Race for the Family on Saturday June 8, 2019 at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, MD. SGF physicians, staff, and current and former patients and other supporters from throughout the community are invited to celebrate the strength and courage it takes to overcome infertility, and to raise funds in support of Cade Foundation Family Building Grants. The Grants, which provide up to $10,000 for fertility treatment, are specifically designated for any family with infertility in the US. Two raffles will be held for participants including $10,000 in fertility treatment (given in honor of the legacy and memory of Dr. Stephen J. Greenhouse) and medications for one cycle of IVF donated by EMD Serono. Nearly 1,000 friends are expected will attend. In addition to Shady Grove Fertility, other major sponsors include FERRING Pharmaceuticals and EMD Serono.
The honorary event chair and emcee will be ABC 2 (WMAR) Anchor, Kelly Swoop.
The Cade Foundation was formed in 2005 by Baltimore residents Drs. Jason and Camille (Cade) Hammond, whose mother, Dr. Tinina Cade, carried and delivered the couples’ triplets after Camille was unable to conceive due to infertility. The story made national news as Cade was the oldest woman to deliver triplets and serve as a gestational carrier at the time (December 2004).
In total, the Cade Foundation has raised more than $750,000 to support families struggling with infertility. To date, the Fund has supported 106 families and there are now 79 Cade Foundation babies.
